THE CURE
Is it so hard to ask for help
when things are going wrong?
There is no shame in saying,
"God, today I am not strong."
And yet we sit and wring our hands
and say "what shall I do?"
When all that's necessary
is a prayer to see us through.
But prayer isn't simple
when our lives are full of doom.
And it seems that every action
brings us only dark and gloom.
What should be very effortless
is easier said than done,
And hesitation clings to us
like a web our doubt has spun.
Yet prayer is still the answer
that will take away our pain;
If we can only look beyond
the darkness and the rain.
Our God is always with us,
even though we are not sure.
Doubt is just a weakness
for which prayer is the cure.
So if your difficulties seem
to have their hold on you,
And you're having trouble
thinking what to do.
Take a little time to put
yourself back on God's way,
As you sit alone in silence,
and you pray.
