TRULY BLESSED
When I awoke this morning,
With sunshine on my chest,
I knew this was another day
That I would soon be blessed.
I heard a sweet bird singing
A song I did not know.
But I enjoyed it none the less
And let it's glory flow.
I went out to get my paper,
And a neighbor smiled at me.
I waved and said "good morning"
That's a blessing don't you see.
A blessing doesn't have to be
A thing that I can hold.
It isn't even something that
Is ever bought or sold.
A blessing is a gift from God,
That helps me on my way.
Thoughtful little kindnesses,
To pass along each day.
I find I get such pleasure
When a blessing has been shared;
Often all that person needs
Is to know that someone cared.
If I can help to put a smile
On an unhappy face;
Then my day will be complete
And I've renewed my faith.
When I lie in bed each night,
All snuggled down to rest,
I take the time to thank the Lord,
That today I was truly blessed.
